Toyama Prefecture Japan 日本富山县

Toyama Prefecture is a spectacular alpine region where the dramatic Japan Alps meet the Sea of Japan, renowned for its pristine Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route with 20-meter-high snow walls in spring and blazing autumn foliage, and the UNESCO-listed gassho-zukuri villages of Gokayama that preserve 300-year-old farming traditions. This natural wonderland produces Japan’s purest spring water that fuels world-class sake breweries and the pharmaceutical industry, while Toyama Bay’s “natural fish tank” phenomenon brings deep-sea firefly squid and yellowtail to the surface in dazzling nighttime fishing displays. The prefecture’s innovative “Tram-Train” system connects modern Toyama City’s glass art museums to traditional townscapes like Takaoka’s Great Buddha and copperware workshops, offering perfect harmony between cutting-edge sustainability initiatives and centuries-old craftsmanship in one of Japan’s most scenically diverse regions.
